“Gabrielle loved her lesson today, thank you Evelyn”
Gabrielle was very astute. Quite amazing. She had a new Pfaff machine and had never sewn before. She is set on being a fashion designer and is completely focused. The next project she is planning is most definitely a skirt!
Gabrielle is going into Year 6 and just one of the girls who has enjoyed a sewing lesson these holidays with our super talented sewing teacher Evelyn Campbell. Private in-home tuition is a great way to get your child started or to upskill your enthusiastic sewer. Learning the foundation skills of using a sewing a machine can be paramount in the continued success and enjoyment of this most useful and creative skill. Girls often have ‘grand ideas’ of why they want to sew yet can often loose enthusiasm when things get difficult and start to go wrong. Leaning the basics from Evelyn gives them the best start to their journey and they will receive invaluable hands-on information, help & guidance. Some of our students have their own machines (whether they be a new present or the family machine that is still going strong) and want to learn on them specifically. Some students don’t have a machine yet or mum is thinking about buying one but wants to ‘test the waters’ first. Either way we can bring all the tools & materials necessary to get them started during this 2.5hr lesson. We can bring upto 2 Janome machines with us.
$175 is the flat rate for Evelyn to visit your home. You may have between 1 – 3 students (meaning you can share the cost). We provide the materials required for all beginner projects such as – stitch practise, cushion, tote bag, zippered pencil case, applique and more. But can certainly accomodate something more involved and advise you on the materials you will need.
